The Normal School Company

Harvey Crawford

Harvey Crawford was born in Crawford, Orange County, on April 30, 1837. He journeyed to Albany and joined the Normal School Company on August 14, 1862. He was wounded slightly in the neck at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863. It put him out of action, but he was able to attend to the severely wounded of the battle. He participated in all battles with the Normal School Company through Laurel Hill, on May 8, 1864. He was mortally wounded in the stomach during the charge against the Confederate fortifications, and died May 10, 1864.
